Shake It Up Shakespeare at Forest Park

"To do Shakespeare or not to do Shakespeare, that is the question." We go to Forest Park Elementary School in the Half Hollow Hills School District. We do a program called Shake It Up Shakespeare. We are the only school in our district that gets to perform a Shakespeare play.

Shake It Up Shakespeare allows the fifth-graders to get together and perform in front of the school. We will be reciting some of Shakespeare's famous plays such as "Hamlet," "Romeo and Juliet," "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "The Comedy of Errors."

Each fifth-grade class gets to do a play, and since it's the fifth anniversary of Forest Park and the school is closing, the fifth grade gets the opportunity to try out for being in a second play called "The Taming of the Shrew."

Our Shakespeare teacher, Mr. Allan Osterweil, is going to test our memorization and dramatic skills; hopefully, we will end off with a bang.
