Why wearing sunscreen is important

The summer is almost over, but you can still get a bad sunburn, so you have to be careful. Always put on sunscreen before going out. I wanted to find out if kids in my school worry about sunscreen or even put it on every day.

Here is what I found out. Nine out of 10 kids use it every day. They know this is important because getting a sunburn can increase the risk of skin problems later on.

The most popular sunscreen that my classmates use is Banana Boat. You should use sunscreen every day if you spend time outside, and who doesn’t in the summer? You need to reapply it at least every two hours.

Here are some top reasons to wear sunscreen, according to WebMD.com:

  • Helps protect against skin cancer.
  • Helps prevent sunburn.
  • Helps to avoid wrinkles from sun exposure.
  • Helps to maintain clear skin and shield against brown spots.

Here are some of the most popular sunscreens kids here like to use: Banana Boat Sport, Neutrogena Beach Defense, Coppertone Sport and Aveeno.
