Over the past 12 years, have you ever found yourself wondering about the story behind the famous Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan (aka Sulley), the two best friends from Disney Pixar's "Monsters, Inc.?"

The prequel begins with young Mike on an elementary school field trip to Monsters, Inc. It is here he gets his inspiration to become a scarer when he grows up. Fast forward 10 years when we find him setting foot at Monsters University on the first day of school. .
High on Mike's agenda is to fulfill his dream of becoming a scarer. While Mike is in his dorm room trying to study one evening, Sulley strolls in, holding the mascot of an opposing school. Mike and Sulley take opposite paths while in college: Mike is studying morning, noon and night to prepare for the Scare Final, while Sully is enjoying the fun of college life.
Sulley expects his famous family name to carry him through his college career. An unintentional incident with the dean causes both Mike and Sulley to be kicked out of the scare program.
Mike decides to use the university's annual "Scare Games" to strike a high-stakes deal with the dean: If his team wins the games, he and Sulley can be re-enrolled into the Scare School. But if they lose, they will be kicked out of Monsters University. Mike becomes the mastermind behind their winning techniques. Spoiler Alert here!
They win the final event, but not without yet another plot twist! Mike uses his determination and perseverance to get Sully and himself out of what is considered a monster's biggest fear.
Mike never does fulfill his life's goal of becoming a fearsome scarer, but have no worries . . . the story does not end here. Mike and Sulley find their way to Monsters, Inc. through an ad in the newspaper. Monsters, Inc. is where the movie ends and is the beginning of the original movie "Monsters, Inc."
We think this movie will be very enjoyable for most age groups. However, some younger kids might be a little frightened. Adults and teen groups will definitely enjoy the college scenes.
Our favorite scene was the frat house party! We realize that little Boo was not alive while Mike and Sulley studied at Monsters University, but we missed her.
