Recently we attended a private screening of the new animated movie "Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return" starring Megan Hilty and Lea Michele.

In the beginning, Dorothy Gale wakes up surprised to see everything, including the house, the barn and the chicken coop broken. She has just defeated the Wicked Witch of the West in Oz. The appraiser tells Dorothy and her family they have to leave by sunset because the house looks terrible. Dorothy does not approve and wants to help fix their property. While this is happening, Oz is in trouble. Dorothy goes on a walk and sees a rainbow. The rainbow tries to grab her, but she runs. The rainbow finally gets her and it is Tin Man, The Lion and The Scarecrow. They were trying to contact her for help, but then Jester's monkeys came to the Emerald City and took over the machine that they were using to get her. When she gets to Oz, she wants to go straight to Emerald City. While trying to get there, she meets new friends and faces a lot of problems. Many people are in danger in Oz and it is up to Dorothy to save the day. Will she be able to defeat the Jester and save Oz once again? Watch the movie to find out. We give it 5 smiles out of 5.

The movie was funny, adventurous and entertaining. The songs were enjoyable and made you dance in your seat. This movie should be considered a family movie. There were many songs, but our favorites were, "When the World" and "Candy Candy." There were some little scary parts, but it was so entertaining that you wanted to watch it to the very end.

After seeing the movie, we were able to interview actress Megan Hilty, who starred in this movie as China Princess.

If you had to be another character in the movie, who would it be and why?

I would be Wiser the Owl. Have you seen the movie yet? Wasn't he funny? Yeah, I would be Wiser. He's hilarious.

In an animated movie, how many times do you have to say your lines before they get put into the film?

A whole lot. I've actually been working on the film for many, many years. It takes a long time to make an animated movie. So I've said these lines a lot.

What were the challenges you faced playing the part of the China Princess?

It came so naturally ... there were some frustrating parts, I'm sure. It's a really fun job, though. I mean, think about it. You get to go into this little recording booth all by yourself and create a whole new character that nobody's ever seen before. So even the parts that may have seemed a little tough were still fun.

Personally, what is your favorite part in the movie?

Anytime the China Doll Princess is on the screen ... No, I love the song "Work With Me," when they're all making the boat together. I actually did three other voices in that ... and we were just playing around in the recording studio. I played the mouse and I forget who else. But I remember watching the movie and going, "Oh, that's me." I kept nudging my husband going, "That's me, too."

Are you a big fan of "The Wizard of Oz"?

I'm a huge fan of "The Wizard of Oz." Who isn't a fan of "The Wizard of Oz"? Have you all seen it? It's amazing. It's a big part of our culture. Yes, so I love it.

Have you ever done a movie with another member in the cast? If so, who?

I don't think I have. Actually, I've worked with Bernadette Peters, who plays Glinda. She played my mother in a TV show that I did, called "Smash."

Do you like being in animated movies?

I do. I like it because there are no limits. You can go and try whatever you want and the worst thing that can happen, they delete it if they don't like it. It's not like you're going in front of thousands of people and trying something that doesn't work. So you can really go in and be free to try whatever you want.
