We were lucky to be chosen to be some of the first people to see “Smurfs: The Lost Village.” The movie’s characters are voiced by some of today’s biggest stars. They include Demi Lavato as Smurfette, Mandy Patinkin as Papa Smurf, Jack McBrayer as Clumsy Smurf and Joe Manganiello as Hefty Smurf. This movie was amazing. It was filled with fun and adventurous scenes. Demi brought so much emotion to the movie. For example, Smurfette brings a positive vibe to the Smurf Village as she spreads happiness to the other Smurfs.

It is clear that Hefty is in love with Smurfette. During the movie, we realized that Hefty couldn’t take his eyes off her. Hefty was protective of Smurfette when she was in danger and he devised a plan to save her. Some of our favorite scenes from the movie were when Smurfette hung out with the three boys: Hefty, Brainy and Clumsy. Another favorite scene was in the beginning when we got a short description of each character in the village.

Overall, we think this movie is great for all ages. We rate this movie 5 smiles.

We came back to Manhattan to meet actors Demi Lovato and Joe Manganiello at the AOL Build Studios in Manhattan recently.

Overall, meeting them was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We had an amazing time meeting them. We asked them about the romance between Smurfette and Hefty. We wanted to know if the chemistry was real. Demi said, “That’s a really funny question. Playing Smurfette and having that romance with Hefty was, of course, funny in the movie and the little things that Hefty would do were really sweet, really charming. But, yeah, we get along. He’s not too bad.”

We also wanted to know if in real life they were anything like their characters. Joe replied, “I’m pretty similar to my character, I think. He is very chivalrous. Like he would do anything for Smurfette. He would fight for Smurfette. And I’m the same way about my wife, definitely. And he’s also very romantic, which I am very, very much romantic with my wife. So I understand that very well.”

Demi agreed and said, “I think I’m pretty similar to my character. We’re both strong, independent women, and a bit curious and a little mischievous. I did some sneaking out when I was younger and she sneaks out to go on this adventure.”

We wanted to know what it was like to laugh or cry in an animated movie. Demi said, “That’s a good question. I faked it. I didn’t actually cry and I didn’t actually have a big hearty laugh. But, that’s a part of acting.”

Joe answered, “Well, you didn’t have to cry. We can’t give away the ending, but this is a very sad ending. Part of it’s kind of sad.”

We wanted to know whom Joe liked starring with in movies. He said, “I had so much fun filming my movie with Pee-wee Herman. I did a movie called “Pee-wee’s Big Holiday.” And I grew up watching Pee-wee Herman movies, and then I got to be in a movie with him when he showed up in his little bow tie and suit. And then I actually got to wear a bow tie and suit, just like his in the movie, and that was probably my favorite moment ever, in the history of my career.”
