My mom and I had tickets to the Harlem Wizards game. They were playing for a fundraiser at a nearby high school. When I got to the game, the stands were jam-packed. When the game started, it was so amazing. The announcer kept adding 10 more points to the opposing team. The announcer had funny names for everybody on the Mattituck team, which made it even more fun. The Wizards were pulling one of the players named A-train's pants down and hanging upside down on the nets. We couldn't stop laughing.
At halftime, I walked over to two of the Wizards. I asked a player if I could have his shoes; he said no. I asked another player if I could have his shirt; he said no also. They did say, "Follow me." So we went into the locker room and they showed me a routine they wanted me to do with them at the end of the game. One asked me to go sit over on the team seats, until the last quarter. I couldn't believe it: I was sitting with the Wizards during the game! They were all joking around with me.
Finally, the time came, and at the last quarter I walked out on the court with one of the Wizards. He passed me the ball and then I made a bank shot. All of the Mattituck players soon cleared the court. The Wizards took me out to the middle of the court and had me in the middle of a huddle. There was fun music playing. They had me take off my T-shirt and they threw it out of the top of the huddle. When they cleared the huddle, everyone in the gym saw that my dad and I had written "Go Harlem Wizards" in marker on my chest. It was so funny. The next thing I had to do was copy the three things that A-train did. After we finished the routine for the crowd, A-train wiped his face on the T-shirt he was about to give me. When A-train gave me the shirt, I put it on. My mom thought that was gross, but I didn't care.
When the game ended, everybody was saying I was so lucky. My friends and their parents who were at the game were sending pictures and videos to my mom's iPhone. I really hope I get to go to another Wizards game soon. If the Harlem Wizards come to your area, don't miss out! Check their website: harlemwizards.com
