I was given the PlayStation 4 video game The Show 16 MVP Edition (Sony) to test out. I had a blast playing it. Here is what I found:
It is a very fun game. It took me a while to get into it, but the game gets better as you get used to it. Pitching and hitting the baseball seems really realistic. There is a mode called “Road to the Show,” it is basically a career mode. Also, you get bonus points for the length of your bat. You should get a good feeling for the strike zone and its relationship to pitches coming over the plate.
In the game, if the player is not happy with his coaching role on the team it can affect his play on the field. Or if you don’t let the player work every day, he could retire. There are new animations, new reactions to home runs and specific celebrations for each team.
I am very impressed with the quality of the game. I can only imagine how much better it will be in 2017.
