“Tuck Everlasting” is a spectacular Broadway musical and we saw it last week. It talks about life and how being immortal isn’t as awesome as you think it would be. The show’s main character, Winnie Foster, is played by Sarah Charles Lewis, who is a fantastic singer and a great actress. She was outstanding. We liked the entire Tuck family, especially Jesse Tuck, who is played by Andrew Keenan-Bolger. The musical also has a lot of humor; the characters Hugo (Michael Wartella) and Constable Joe (Fred Applegate) were super funny.

We think it is a great musical for the whole family. The changing of the sets and the transition between scenes were amazing, with rotating houses and scenery dropping down from above. The sets were stunning, and you felt like you were actually there — it was so realistic. Our favorite song was “Seventeen.” It was a spectacular song, and we can’t get it out of our heads. The carnival scene was incredible; there were amazing flips, unbelievable dancing, and more jaw-dropping music! Our favorite characters were Winnie and Constable Joe. We liked Winnie because of the brave choice she made at the end of the play. Constable Joe was hilarious when acting like a know-it-all but his partner was doing all the work. If you can go see this musical, we would definitely recommend it.

Even though it doesn’t exactly follow the book, we still thought it was excellent and we give it 4.5 smiles.

It is playing at the Broadhurst Theatre, 235 W. 44th St. in Manhattan, and tickets are available at
