Compliment parties are fun, and I think all schools should do them. Compliment parties come as the result of good things we do in the school for one another.
If a kid gives a compliment to another kid in school or does something and gets rewarded with a compliment, you get a point. After a certain number of points are recorded by our teacher, we have a party. It is a great way to celebrate positive things we have done for each other.
We set a goal of 20 compliments. After we reached that, we had a party and then made it more of a challenge by having to achieve 30 before a party.
Part of the fun is, the class gets to come up with school-appropriate party ideas. We could have a pizza party, a pajama party or a movie day. Other ideas were kickball and extra recess.
