The Well Seasoned Chef is a great place for people of all ages to learn how to cook.

We interviewed the owner, Sophia Benito Brivio. She has been cooking her whole life and grew up in her grandfather’s restaurant. She went to a culinary school in Manhattan called the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) and worked in several restaurants in New York City. The name of her cooking school, The Well Seasoned Chef, was created because that was what her instructor called her when she was in cooking school. Her favorite restaurant of the ones she worked at was called Blue Hill, in Manhattan. Before she opened her business, she catered and taught people to cook out of her home and theirs.

It is a great place to plan a birthday party or take a cooking class. If you want to have your birthday party there, you can choose from pizza party, “mangia” and fiesta styled menus. The cooking school hosts nine themed culinary nights, such as teen culinary parties, school events, ladies’ night out, guys grillin’ and chillin’ nights, “What’s for Dinner,” and much more. “What’s for Dinner” and scout troop events are two of the most popular classes. So, if you or any of your friends or family are interested in learning how to cook, this spectacular cooking school can teach you how to cook at any level of experience.

The Well Seasoned Chef is located at 45 New Hyde Park Rd., Garden City; 516-488-1008, thewellseasonedchef.com
