Every year the fifth-graders at our school have the opportunity to join a great club called EPIC. EPIC stands for Empathy, Productivity, Integrity and Curiosity. In this club we do community service, donations and care packages for those in need.

A few things we do are project nights and quarters for books, and we make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that we donate to those in need. We recently went to the soup kitchen, too. Every year we have a bake sale, and this year we raised $90, and we spent it on all these projects for the homeless shelter and animal shelter. We are now collecting dog and cat food and gently used towels. One time the guide dog foundation came to our meeting and taught us all about their program. After they came, we gave them a nice donation. EPIC is a great way to help out our community.
