Here at our school, kindness counts. We have many things here to show kindness, including community events, kindness cards, Kindness Club, kindness fortunetellers and kindness posters.

In the Kindness Club, we make thank-you cards for people who don’t normally feel appreciated, and we make kindness fortuneteller crafts in which you find suggestions for kind acts to do. We encourage kids to be more kind by making kindness posters. We may put kindness notes in the library books. We are also going to have community events including coat and food drives.

We have a kindness link, which is a normal paper-chain link but it has several links with names of the kids who have done kind acts. When you do a kind act, you get announced on the loudspeaker and you get a card with your name and the kind act you did. We asked 18 kids if they thought the kindness link helped them to be more kind. Most kids answered yes because it feels nice to be awarded and to be on the announcements.

We think kindness is important because it should be spread. We hope this article inspires you to be more kind.
