Wild for Pooh, and Piglet and Tigger too

A furry, yellow bear, with a red shirt and a warm heart. That's the one and only Winnie the Pooh, a character I have loved since I was little. He is a wonderful bear with many friends, living in the 100 Acre Wood. One might think a 13-year-old girl would be over Winnie the Pooh . . . but not me!

It started when I was 5 or 6. My friend had a love for Pooh Bear. She had stuffed animals, pictures of her with him on her wall, she even had a pillow of Pooh Bear on her bed. This is where it began, and now I have so much Pooh Bear stuff!

I have so many Winnie the Pooh items, it's probably half of what I have in my room (and my closet). I have 10 Pooh Bear stuffed animals. I also have a collection of his friends -- Piglet, Tigger, Rabbit, Eeyore, Kanga and Roo -- all in stuffed-animal form. My friend got me a picture that says: "We'll be friends forever, won't we, Pooh?" asked Piglet. "Even longer," Pooh answered.

I have a Pooh Bear snow globe, which is meant for Christmas, but I keep it out every day. I have a Pooh Bear figurine that I got for my 13th birthday, which is Pooh Bear and Piglet sitting with balloons and hats next to a cake. I also got my hands on a Pooh Bear figurine that is Pooh lying down on clouds, and it's propped up on a little blue stand.

But Pooh Bear isn't only my room decor, it's my wardrobe. I have overalls and two Pooh Bear shirts. I have another shirt that I don't normally wear, because it's a little big, but it's a denim long-sleeve shirt with Pooh Bear and Piglet.

For sleepwear, I have a super-comfy Pooh Bear Onesie. I also have gotten so many Pooh Bear birthday cards and, in fourth grade, my friend got me a Pooh Bear magnet. The same friend got me a Pooh Bear key chain that I kept on my backpack.

One of my favorite Pooh Bear quotes is "Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."

Winnie the Pooh -- the bear who taught me to believe in myself.
