Parents of kids in 6th grade through high school who want some advice on how to have a stress-free school year might want to attend an interactive program on the topic on Thursday in Commack.

Steven R. Levey, who has a PhD and MSW in social work from Yeshiva University and more than 20 years of experience working with children and families, will focus on topics such as how to effectively communicate with your child, even when they don’t agree with what you have to say; tackling technology use and encouraging organization and time management.

The workshop begins at 7 p.m. and is $25 per family. Advance reservation is requested. The program is at the Suffolk Y JCC, 74 Hauppauge Rd., Commack, but parents don’t need to be JCC members to attend. For more information or to register, call Levey at 516-729-6323.
