The inaugural Long Island Nets’ Fan Festival — with free activities geared to families — happens from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday on the plaza of the renovated Nassau Coliseum, 1255 Hempstead Tpke., Uniondale.
The Cradle of Aviation Museum will bring a plane to the Coliseum; Radio Hofstra will be live broadcasting from the event; and Manhattan’s Hospital for Special Surgery is hosting a Sports Safety Clinic to teach kids to minimize preventable musculoskeletal health issues. Music, face painting, balloon artistry, bounce houses and basketball are also on the day’s agenda. Food will also be available.
Long Island Nets player J.J. Moore, who hails from Brentwood, and Nets Head Coach Ronald Nored are scheduled to be at the fest to meet the community.
If it’s raining, the Fan Festival will be rescheduled for Aug. 26.
The Long Island Nets are the NBA Development League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets.
