Peter Del Priore
Peter Del Priore was born at 12:40 a.m. at his family's home in Oceanside, on Jan. 1, 1962. He was the first baby born in Nassau County that year. His mother, Mrs. John J. Del Priore, right, was assisted during the birth by registered nurse Edna Balder of Plainview, who happened to be attending a party at a nearby home when the emergency arose.
Mrs. Edward C. Day of Islip holds her daughter, Teresa Marion, at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore on Jan. 1, 1960. Teresa was born 20 seconds after midnight, and was declared the first baby born in Suffolk County that year.
