If you're heading into Manhattan for a day trip with the kids, you may want to make a pit stop at Apple Seeds (two locations in Chelsea and on the Upper West Side).

There you'll find an indoor playground, children's classes, cooking, science, construction, crafts, dance, gym/movement, soccer, book clubs, playgroups and more. The indoor play space includes things such as slides, a Lego table, a deli with play foods and a soft climbing area.

First time visiting? You may want to stop by the Chelsea location (10 W. 25th St.) from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday for the grand opening of the store's toy and book boutique.

Children ages 5 and under will have a chance to experience many activities throughout the day including face painting, balloon animals, children’s manicures and story time book readings every hour. Jan Helson, the author of "The Global Game Changers," will also host a reading at the event.

Even better, you can set up a free haircut! Call the apple seeds salon (212.792.7590 x216) in advance to schedule an appointment; walk-ins are also welcome.

"Together with my wife Allison, and our partners, Alison and Bobby Berna, we are excited to open a brand new children’s toy and book boutique, along with a children’s hair salon, at  apple seeds in Chelsea,” said co-founder and Oceanside native, Craig Schlanger.
