Kids ages 7 to 14 can play Minecraft en masse from 4 to 5:40 p.m. Wednesday at the Regal Deer Park Stadium 16, 455 Commack Rd, Deer Park. Kids bring their laptops and play the game on the same server. Cost is $20 per child.

This is one of 25 stops across the United States run by Super League Gaming, a recreational video game league, and it's meant to introduce kids to sports-league-style video play.

Players will compete on their own laptops in a first-person view, but an aerial view of the entire Minecraft world will be projected on the movie-theater screen.

SLG will launch fall leagues on Sept. 14 that will consist of six consecutive weekly sessions, much like kids' sports leagues, during which teams can climb an international leaderboard. The league will cost $120 per child.
