The MommaCon expo will provide a wealth of information for Long Island parents, including the best camps, where to go on a rainy Saturday, where to get the healthiest, family-friendly foods and where to hold the coolest birthday party. The event takes place at LIU Post (720 Northern Blvd., Brookville) on Sunday, March 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Price: $5, a percentage of proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.

A daylong event for North Shore Long Island families who want to learn more about where to have birthday parties, where to go to summer camp, where to take activity classes and more takes place March 22 at LIU Post in Brookville.

This is the second year of the event catering to families who live between Great Neck and East Northport. Booths will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature companies, venues and more, including Not Just Art of Oyster Bay, Village East Gifted in Huntington and Bach to Rock of Port Washington and Syosset.

In addition to focusing on kids, some of the booths will focus on helping moms. Such booths include workout opportunities, nutritional information and beauty products, including Pure Barre of Huntington, Gym Guyz of Long Island, and Rustic Roots, an organic food delivery service.

About 20 breakout sessions will let children sample music classes, arts and crafts and athletics. Raffles and free samples will be available, as well as a pay-as-you-eat concession stand. Strolling entertainment will be provided by the Big Apple Circus.

I'm doing this again because last year it was such a success that people said they couldn't wait for the next one," says co-founder Jeannine Henvey, a Huntington mom of three children. "Everyone just had a really great time."
