From cake pops and baked goods to party planning, photography, clothing design and more, 'momtreprenuers' are popping up everywhere.
According to local mom blogger, Amanda Khalil of Port Washington Mama, a 'momtreprenuer' is a business owner who is actively balancing the role of mom and entrepreneur. "Often times, she leaves an established career (and paycheck) to spend more time with her children while pursuing a new interest or offering a service related to her former profession."
This weekend, many Long Island 'momtrepreneurs' are coming together for the first-ever 'Momtrepreneur' Fair in Port Washington on Saturday. The event will showcase mom business owners in the Port Washington area and connect families with new, local services.
More than 40 'momtrepreneurs' will be participating including:
Abigail Drescher Meyer of Chic Wall Graphics
Alexis Hines of HinesSight Photography (family photography)
Antonietta Manzi of ByTina Design (handmade hairbows, knit hats and tutus)
Blanka of Blanka’s Kitchen (cake pops and baked goods)
