Saf-T-Swim is opening its 13th swim school location on Long Island — a Melville venue slated to start business by mid- to late March.
Saf-T-Swim offers swim lessons to a young clientele — 99 percent of the students are between 2 months to 12 years old, says owner and co-founder Jim Hazen.
“Our goal basically is to teach kids to survive in case of a water accident — to float on their back or get to the side of the pool,” Hazen says. “The main goal is to get them safe.” Then, Saf-T-Swim teaches technique. “People stay to learn the strokes,” Hazen says.
Saf-T-Swim also offers an introductory swim team. “They can get a taste of the competition edge,” Hazen says. And Saf-T-Swim offers birthday parties on weekends and Mommy and Me sessions.
The new location is at 515 Broad Hollow Rd. For more information, visit saf-t-swim.com or call 866-SAFE-SWIM.
