A new School of Rock location started offering classes this week in Huntington, focusing primarily on kids ages 7 to 17 interested in guitar, bass, drums, vocals and piano.
The new school is at 145 E. Main St. in Huntington, and it’s owned by the same people who opened the School of Rock’s Rockville Centre location two years ago.
“We got involved with School of Rock eight or nine years ago, when our son was 9 or 10 years old and he was interested in playing music,” says owner Monica Rubin. “We thought ‘School of Rock’ was a movie; then we learned it was an actual place for kids to learn music.”
The school offers weekly private and weekly group lessons. “At the same time, it’s a clubhouse,” Rubin says, where members can come in to practice.
People who sign up by Dec. 31 will receive 10 percent off for the first two months, Rubin says. For more information, call 631-683-5030 or go to huntington.schoolofrock.com.
