Wish you could head to a grown-up movie matinee, but need to take care of your baby?  Worried that if you take him to the theater with you,  the little tyke might cry and disturb other patrons? Give this a try: The Bump Bring Your Baby Matinee at noon on Tuesday at AMC Loews Raceway 10, 1025 Corporate Dr., Westbury.

On the first Tuesday of every month, parents can enjoy a baby-friendly theater environment. “Rock of Ages” is the movie playing this month -- rated PG-13. Tickets are the regular matinee price of $9.50 (babies are free).

The lights are a little brighter so parents can see into the diaper bag if they need a bottle or snack for baby. The sound is turned down a bit so babies won’t be startled. Parents can park their strollers without worry, breast-feed and socialize with other parents.

The monthly event is co-sponsored by TheBump.com, a pregnancy and parenting website and online community. "As a new mom, you're not able to do all the things you used to be able to do before you had the baby," says Elena Mauer, deputy editor of TheBump.Com. "One of the things moms miss most is going to the movies."
