Weekend family fun on Long Island: Father's Day, Strawberry Festival, family Bingo and more

Looking for things to do with the kids this weekend? From a strawberry festival to Father's Day events, family Bingo and more, there's much to do on Long Island. Here are my top five picks for fun family-friendly activities this weekend:

1. Choose Your Own Adventure at Old Westbury Gardens (71 Old Westbury Rd., Old Westbury). Receive a “Choose Your Own Adventure” book at the green ticket booth to create a Garden quest all on your own and follow pages to spy new areas of the Gardens on Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Price: Free with park admission ($10, $5 children ages 7-17, free children ages 6 and younger).

2. Family Bingo Night at Country Fair Entertainment Park (3351 Rte. 112, Medford). On Saturday from 6-9 p.m., challenge your family members with a game of Bingo. Price: $6, $2 each additional card; registration is required.

3. Strawberry Festival at the Mattituck Lions Club (Mattituck). Dig into fresh strawberries and other confections and enjoy music, rides, handmade crafts and more on Thursday from 5-9 p.m., Friday on 5-11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Fireworks on Friday and Saturday; free parking and shuttle service. Price: Fri: $2, ages 5 and younger free; Sat.-Sun. $7, $3 ages 6-11, free 5 and younger; free for dads on Father's Day.

4. Father's Day in Flight at Maritime Explorium (101 East Broadway, Port Jefferson). Spend time with dad constructing and testing gliders and more on Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. Price: $5.

5. Family Adventures: Interesting Insects at Hempstead Lake State Park (Southern State Parkway, West Hempstead). Take a walk in the woods and check out all the insects on Sunday from 1:30-3 p.m. Price: $4, $3 children ages 12 and younger, free for children 3 and younger; registration is required.
