Go to the beach as often as possible.
Take a ferry to Fire Island.
Brave Splish Splash.
These are three of the items on my summer bucket list. I got the idea of compiling such a list from another parent in my son’s Boy Scout troop.
I am building my list in my head, discussing some ideas with the family and keeping other ideas to myself (Riverhead's Splish Splash water park will be my son’s end-of-the-school-year surprise). The dad I met at a den meeting says he’s been keeping his list in a digital memo on his iPhone. Whether it’s camping, riding a hot-air balloon or going to Hershey’s Park, he says he takes pleasure both in crossing off goals and in looking forward to new adventures. He said that if he didn't keep such a list, he might forget to take the time to enjoy the season with his children.
Getting into Manhattan to the new Museum of Mathematic, having a Minecraft party at home and making a blueberry pie for my son from blueberry bushes we've been trying to grow for the past few years in our garden are few more of my own. What is on your summer bucket list?
