A new venue for families with young children called Wowmoms World Long Island opened this week in Mineola. It’s the first Wowmoms World franchise in the United States, says co-owner Natalie Economou.

Wowmoms World offers open play for preschoolers, parent-and-child yoga and fitness classes, a cafe and even flotation therapy for infants. “It’s such a fresh, new take on modern-day parenting,” says Economou, 33, of Manhasset, who co-owns Wowmoms World with her children’s nanny, Eleni Hadjigeorghi, 53, of East Northport. Economou has two sons, Peter, 6, and Alex, 4, and was an ultrasound technician before opening Wowmoms World.

Wowmoms World originated in Canada, with two locations there now open. There is also one in Mexico City, and several more are set to open in Florida, Texas and New Jersey, Economou says.

A monthly membership for unlimited open play is $125 per child; open play by the hour is $12 for one child, $20 for two children for the first hour, with rates diminishing for each subsequent hour. Fitness classes are $28 each with discounts for multiple classes.

The Long Island location is at 328 E. Jericho Tpke., Mineola. For more information, call 516-741-6667 or visit
