The SummerStrings! The all-female rock band Antigone Rising will play at their third annual BeachFest at Sea Cliff Beach beginning at 7 p.m. on Sept. 17, celebrating the work of their educational foundation Girls Rising.

Girls Rising inspires young girls and LGBT youth to pursue non-traditional career paths and assures children that it’s OK to play, think, act and be different. Learn more about the foundation at girlsrising.org.

The SummerStrings! Rockestra, an orchestra made up of local kids primarily in fifth grade and older, is scheduled to join Antigone Rising at about 7:30 p.m.

BeachFest is an annual event that will begin this year at 2 p.m. and feature various musical entertainment.
