People sat on the floor or stood in the crowds, generally craning and straining to get a gander at Tory Burch’s fall collection – this not a very commodious show. That said, there were loads of Tory classics and lots that smacked of the 70’s yet it all felt rather fresh.
Must-have tweeds were everywhere – jackets, coats (some with fur collars), even shifts. Some pieces looked prim, while some had fringed unfinished hems that added a little edge. A pretty print peach-and-cream jersey dress grazed the floor as did a number of maxi skirts.
Most eyebrow raising: wide pleated palazzo pants – huge, flowy jobs that might double as an evening skirt come next fall.
And speaking of evening, there were groovy tunic and pants ensembles one encrusted with crystal at the neckline and down the leg like a tuxedo stripe.
