Flowing maxi dresss and Bohemian tops in turquoise, orange and deep shades of pink next to romantic floral prints and delicate lace transformed the third floor of Macy's Herald Square into Italy's Amalfi Coast Tuesday.
The sunny Italian coastline inspired designer Alberta Ferretti's first capsule collection for Impulse, now available at 185 Macy's stores nationwide and on macys.com.
And what better place to draw inspiration for a summer line?
"This collection is very feminine, very sensual, elegant; it's dedicated to the modern, contemporary woman," Ferretti said.
Although the dresses range in price from $59 to $119 (Ferretti is a celebrity favorite and her gowns can cost more than $2,000), they stay true to her signature style with Grecian-like silhouettes and flattering draping.
Macy's fashion director Nicole Fischelis joined Ferretti to celebrate the new line at the Herald Square store in Manhattan, surrounded by bronzed models looking Positano-ready in her designs.
"The queen of femininity and refinement, she's bringing to New York the sun of Italy, the beautiful blue skies of Italy, the sensuality of the Italian Amalfi Coast," Fischelis said.
Now if only each dress came with a plane ticket.
