Fashion stylist Annabel Tollman passed away in her sleep Thursday night in her Manhattan apartment at the young age of 39, seemingly due to natural causes, a spokesman for the New York Police Department told Women's Wear Daily.
Tollman was the woman behind the fashion choices of a number of celebrities, including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Scarlett Johansson, Mariah Carey and Liv Tyler and was a fixture on the New York fashion scene.
The Brussels-born blonde was also the former Fashion Director for Interview Magazine and worked with eBay Fashions, Calvin Klein, and numerous fashion publications and was named Hollywood’s most powerful stylist by the Hollywood Reporter in 2011.
The fashion world was turned upside down by the sad news and took to social media to express their grievances. Tollman’s friends and family posted a message on her Facebook page thanking those who have taken the time to honor her.
“Thank you all for honoring our beloved Annabel. Her beauty, spirit and love will remain in our hearts always. At this time there is not confirmation of what caused their tragedy and we ask that you respect Annabel’s privacy, legacy and honor and continue to think of her just as she was, perfect in every way. When we have news to share regarding memorial services and celebrating her life, we will be sure to make an announcement."
