Breezy, easy dresses – some vividly color-blocked, others amped with vibrant pops of coral, emerald and deep blue – featured light layers that fluttered gracefully as models walked the BCBG Max Azria runway on day one of New York Fashion Week.
A particularly short runway show from Azria (only 30 looks), the frocks were rather striking – some pleated, others with cutout shoulders (quickly becoming a trend for spring 2012).
The standouts of the bunch featured interesting tribal prints and subtle embroideries. Overall, graceful with a bit of a deco vibe.
And oh those hemlines…staying longer for spring.
