Beyoncé’s hotly anticipated The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour is sure to thrill fans with defying dance moves and sensational singing. But it is the custom-made Stuart Weitzman shoes that will catch fashion lovers' eyes as she struts on stage.
The famed shoe designer will be whipping up everything from stiletto pumps adorned with Swarovski crystals to laced-up combat boots.
“Creating footwear for Beyoncé’s shows has been one of my most inspiring projects,” Weitzman said in a statement. “She and her entire team know exactly what they need, always focusing on the fashion and the function of the styles that will be worn."
Weitzman has been crafting show-stopping footwear for Beyoncé for more than six years now, including two other world tours.
“After countless tours and TV appearances and special concerts, I have literally danced a thousand miles in his beautiful shoes,” Beyonce said of Weitzman when he won the Lifetime Achievement Award from Footwear News.
“He understands not only our needs artistically, but Beyoncé’s needs to perform comfortably on stage with each step she takes,” adds Ty Hunter, her stylist of 16 years.
Indeed, when you can move like Beyoncé, it isn’t just the fashion but the function of the shoe that counts. Getting down to her newest single “Bow Down” would prove an impossible feat if she couldn’t shimmy in her Stuart Weitzmans.
