Black Friday timeline: Store openings and doorbusters

Like it or not, Thanksgiving is becoming Gray Thursday -- a good thing if you're looking for bargains. Black Friday madness is creeping deeper into Turkey Day with major retailers Sears, Toys R Us and Walmart opening at 8 p.m. They're joined by Target at 9 p.m., the Tanger Outlets at 10 p.m., and Best Buy, Macy's, Kohl's and more at midnight.

8 p.m.

Sears opens with doorbusters, including a 32-inch HDTV for $97 (models vary by store).

Toys R Us opens -- the first 200 shoppers receive a free goody bag valued at $30.

Kmart opens with deals until 3 a.m. Deals include select Barbie and Disney Princess dolls and five-pack Hot Wheels cars for $2.99.

Walmart opens with deals including an Xbox 360 4GB for $149 and a Crock-Pot 6-quart slow cooker for $9.44.

9 p.m.

Target opens with deals including $4 movie DVDs and a KitchenAid Classic Plus stand mixer for $199.

10 p.m.

Walmart's one-hour in-stock guarantee sale begins, featuring an iPad 2 16G with Wi-Fi for $399 (plus $75 store gift card), an LG Blue-ray DVD player for $38 and a 32-inch LCD TV for $148.

Best Buy begins handing out doorbuster tickets.

Tanger Outlets open in Deer Park and Riverhead.


Kohl's opens with doorbusters that include 50 percent off select toys and a four-piece Prodigy spinning luggage set for $49.99.

Best Buy opens -- hot sale items include a Toshiba 40-inch LCD HDTV for $179.99 and a 23-inch flat-panel Dell LCD monitor for $109.99.

Roosevelt Field opens -- get a jolt with free coffee near south parking garage or a free can of Diet Coke at guest services (first 250 shoppers).

Smith Haven, Walt Whitman, Green Acres malls open.

Broadway Mall opens, first 100 shoppers who donate four nonperishable food items at customer service get a $20 mall gift certificate.

MAC cosmetic counters at Macy's debut new Grey Friday lipstick and nail polish shades -- available only until 4 a.m.

4 a.m.

Second round of doorbusters starts at Sears.

P.C. Richard & Son opens with sale prices that last all day. These include 24-month interest-free financing on all appliances. A Hotpoint washer-dryer pair, $579, (a savings of $250); Canon digital SLR  camera with an extra lens, $499 (a savings of $250); and a Samsung 43-inch Plasma TV, $3565 a.m.

Staples opens with doorbusters such as an HP Windows 8 Laptop for $299.99.

Home Depot and Lowe's open.

Westfield Sunrise and South Shore malls open.

6 a.m.

J.C. Penney opens.

7 a.m.

Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom's open at Roosevelt Field.

HomeGoods opens -- shoppers receive a reusable HomeGoods bag while supplies last, and free coffee.

Marshall's, TJ Maxx, Petsmart and Michaels craft stores open.

8 a.m.

Saks Fifth Avenue opens at Walt Whitman Shops.

10 a.m.

Ikea opens with doorbusters including a LACK side table for $4.99.

Americana Manhasset and Wheatley Plaza shopping centers open.

Santa arrives at Roosevelt Field, Walt Whitman and Smith Haven malls.


Staples doorbusters end.
