Brooks Sports has driven its tricked-out double-decker bus into Union Square today to host the Run Happy Cavalcade of Curiosities, an event designed to get you more educated about your feet and how well you run…and to sell a few pairs of Brooks sneakers, of course.

This British double-decker is no ordinary tour bus, ohhh no. Brooks will offer free running gait analyses on the upper level, and an “Arcade of Oddities” on the lower level. Um…do they realize they’re gonna be in Union Square?? How they expect those “oddities” of theirs to stand out amongst the standard tattooed, body-pierced skateboarders, street people, weirdoes and eccentrics who are normally found in Union Square is beyond me, but they’re gonna give it a shot.

(Apparently their Arcade will include displays of the world’s biggest shoe and a bunion you won’t believe.)

Look for Ring Master Noah, a balloon artist, prizes and more. Or head to these three stores and get a free pair of socks with any Brooks try-on:

Paragon Sports, 867 Broadway (just a coupla blocks north of Union Square)—the sports gear Mecca for New Yorkers.

Jack Rabbit Sports, 42 W. 14th St. (just west of Union Square, on the south side of 14th St).—a gourmet boutique for serious athletes or weekend warriors with the kind of personalized attention and smarts you’d find at an Apple store.

RUN by Foot Locker, 34 E. 14th St. (right there, can’t miss it)—with all the selection the Lock’s known for.

WHEN: Tuesday, September 27, 2011, 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

WHERE: Union Square (in the north plaza between 16th & 17th Streets)
