Dwight Howard's new gal pal is a fit, feisty runway model, and she was all over the NBA All-Star backstage at a recent fashion show. She’s also seven. So they probably don’t have a lot in common (unless he’s into Dora the Explorer).
But that didn’t stop young model Emilie Su from leaping upon the Orlando Magic’s center minutes before they hit the runway in the Marithé + François Girbaud Spring 2012 Men’s Denim fashion show Monday at Style360, a fashion venue in Chelsea’s Metropolitan Pavilion.
“You’re actually doing pull-ups?” he asked. (She was — on his forearm.)
“No, chin-ups,” she corrected.
“That’s the same thing,” he said, laughing. “Here, gimme a high-five. Well…a low-five,” he suggested, adjusting for height.
Howard said he was excited to participate in his first fashion show, especially for Girbaud, a label committed to fighting pollution with its new WattWash/G2 laser and ozone technology (treating fabrics with a reported 97.5 percent less water and no bleach).
Howard is anti-pollution…and anti-coffee.
“That’s nasty,” said the 6-foot-11-incher, when offered a cup. “I don’t drink coffee — it stunts your growth.”
