Hurricane Irene may have reduced apparel retailers' comparable-store sales by 0.5 percent or less for the month as consumers stayed home during the critical back-to-school shopping season, Jennifer Davis, an analyst at Lazard Capital Markets, said today in an e-mail. Has Nov. 25 been circled in your planner all year?

While others sleep off their Thanksgiving feasts, are you standing outside waiting for stores to open?

Do you spend the fall building arm muscles so you'll be able to carry as many bags at one time as possible?

Have you already carefully drafted a team of scrappy, nimble, fasion-savvy shopping companions?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, I'm looking for you. I am on a search for the most extreme, dedicated shoppers planning to scour Long Island for deals this Black Friday.

I want to come shopping with you so that Newsday readers can keep up with your treasure hunt this year. If you think you have what it takes to show Long Islanders what Black Friday is all about and are interested in appearing in Newsday, comment here, email me at ninamarie.ruggiero@newsday.com or tweet me @NinaShopsNY.
