You already shop at H&M for affordable basics like tanks, blazers, jeans and sundresses, but now the party's really getting started.
The retailer launched the Conscious Exclusive eveningwear collection Thursday, an extension of the Conscious collection, a mildly higher-priced line made of sustainable materials.
The new collection includes red carpet-ready options for the ladies, such as a mint green tulle strapless gown, embroidered and beaded dresses, a satin jumpsuit and a peplum top with a dramatic train. (Helen Hunt's navy blue Oscars gown is not included.) Prices range from $49.95 to $299.
For men, there are slim-fitted jackets, a collarless shirt with a bow tie attached, old-fashioned trousers and a three-piece tuxedo.
Environmentally-friendly materials used include organic cotton, recycled polyester and polyamide and Tencel.
The collection is available at 140 select stores worldwide.
