For summer-loving die-hards, this can be a tough time of year. You want to enjoy those last days at the beach or by the pool -- though the days are getting shorter and, yes, September arrives tomorrow.

One simple way to keep that summer feeling is to keep that summer tan. But skin's pesky (if necessary) habit of sloughing off old outer cells and replenishing with new ones underneath, means your tan's days are numbered.

Luckily, there are a host of new products out to help you extend that summer glow, from self-tanning sprays, creams and mousses to overall radiance boosters -- and some from unexpected sources, among them Jessica Robertson of "Duck Dynasty."

Rest assured, the results of these potions and lotions are more than just aesthetic, notes Terry Loong, a London-based doctor, skin-care expert and spokeswoman for The Body Shop. Maintaining a healthy glow makes you "naturally look more radiant and gives [your] confidence a boost."

And -- as we all know -- the best glow is from the inside out.

The Body Shop gives glow two ways -- with the Honey Bronze line (including a matte tan face gel, tinted leg mist and slightly shimmery highlighter) and the new vitamin C Glow Boosting moisturizer ($30, pictured), which enhances collagen production; at The Body Shop and thebodyshop-usa.com.

New this summer, the St. Tropez Pro Light sprayer, delivering a superfine, airbrushed mist for a streak-free tan. It's lightweight and easy to clean (just spray water through it -- no dismantling needed), $229 (includes sprayer and St. Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mist); at sephora.com.

The Jessica Robertson Collection (yes, that Jessica, of "Duck Dynasty" fame) from Dr. Sun Rx includes lip gloss, nail polish, moisturizer and the American Babe White Bronzer, $48, a self-tanner that delivers a Southern sun-kissed look no matter what state you live in; at drsuncosmetics.com.

After applying a self-tanner and color has developed, rely on the Bronze Buffer self-tan remover, a handy sponge that wipes away streaks, color build-up or other oops issues, $10 (for two sponges); at www.bronzebuffer.com.

Launched in July, the Freeman Beauty Feeling Beautiful Coconut Glow Leave-On Bronzing Mask hydrates skin (thanks to coconut oil) while imparting a radiant bronze tint, $4.29; at freemanbeauty.com.

Madame La La Tan is an aloe-rich self-tanning mousse in two shades (tan or tan light) that'll make you look like you've been hanging in LaLaLand (aka Los Angeles) without ever leaving home. Color develops in three hours and lasts 10 days, $47.95; at nigelbeauty.com.

Chock-full of antioxidants and fatty acids, the ultra-moisturizing marula oil is giving argan oil a run for its money, and this summer Marula Pure Beauty Oil released its Bronzing Self-Tan Marula Oil, a fast-absorbing sunless tanner, $62; at marula.com.

Xen-Tan Moroccan Tan Ultra, a self-tanner that lasts five days, also boasts a tropical scent instead of the standard chemical odor given off by the self-tanning ingredient DHA, $65; at neimanmarcus.com and nordstrom.com.

. . . AND, FOR MEN

Guys care less about glow, more about healthy, younger-looking skin. So from Lab Series Skincare for Men comes a new treatment to whip a guy's post-summer mug into shape. The brand's new Future Rescue Repair Serum contains antioxidant-rich concentrates to fortify skin's protective barrier and promote collagen production, giving skin a firm, fresh look. Best of all, it goes on light, not goopy (wear it under moisturizer), and has a barely there scent, $60; available in September at department stores and labseries.com.
