Jennifer Hudson knows how to work it.
The stunning Grammy winner, actress and mother will add fashion designer to her resume this fall when her new clothing line, the Jennifer Hudson Collection, launches on QVC.
Hudson previewed her collection Tuesday at The New Museum in Manhattan wearing one of her designs — a deep blue knit dress with lace inset and ruching. The 14 piece collection includes leggings, maxi skirts, curve hugging dresses and V-neck cardigans.
“I was mostly focused on one having comfort,” Hudson said. “I don’t want to go anywhere unless I know I’m going to be comfortable. That was very important to me when it came to clothing.”
Hudson doesn't expect her fans to sacrifice style, however.
“So many women are always like this hurts, this shoe hurts or this doesn’t feel comfortable," she said. "Well, I feel like why can’t we be fierce and comfortable at the same time?”
The collection ranges in price from $50 to $170.
“Some of these pieces are inspired by red carpet looks. A lot of my fans love those looks but can’t afford it,” Hudson said. “Now I remade it so you can wear it at an affordable cost.”
The Jennifer Hudson collection will launch on QVC.com in early September followed by a one-hour TV premiere on Sept. 10.
