Jill Stuart is no shrinking violet when it comes to baring a little flesh — some seasons are so sheer and the models so nekkid, it’s hard to know what photo to print. (‘Tis a family paper, as they say.)
But this season, the flashes of skin are modest, and the sweet floral fabrics decidedly commercial. This continues a trend of hers in recent seasons, perhaps spurred on by the wobbly economy. So, her line includes dresses and separates in feminine floral and leafy patterns, some black and cream, others in rose and purpley tones.
A selection of dresses heat things up with lacy panels that beg for a party or club night. Her final looks were the most daring — all-over sheer with an artfully placed pattern of tiny silver metallic blossoms.
To remind you we're talking fall, here, there’s also a black wrap coat, cozy like a velvet robe and cinched with a shiny gold belt.
All these options are shown with sleek liquid patent platforms — skyscraper high — and worth the vertigo, in black oxford versions, and a sexy, tall, burgundy boot.
