Kaufmanfranco designers Ken Kaufman and Isaac Franco have had the great fortune of being loooooved by the ladies of Hollywood—Jennifer Aniston, most prominently, not to mention any of the celebs—including Jane Krakowski, Olivia Palermo, Katie Cassidy and Ashley Greene—sitting front row at KF’s runway show Monday night.
It’s easy to see why—there were plenty of riveting, red carpet gowns on the runway. The bold red plungers with thigh-high slits, or a stunner sheath gown that looked like it had a burnout effect, with a pattern of entangled vines and flowers. Sexiest (and easily wearable) were the bandage dresses, in red or optic white, with strips of fabric forming a criss-cross of straps (and glimpses of skin) in every direction.
Sexy but more challenging—the slew of barely there dresses—like a sheer lace sheath, or a black lace dress as sculpted and rigid as a hoop skirt (but much more sinful). Who has Lady Gaga on speed dial?
Reminding shoppers that they can do daywear, too—out came a sexy wide-necked bateau top with mesh-net back, and a great bright-white coat, also with a sheer net back (not as practical in a coat, perhaps, but c’mon, it’s for spring, when you need less coverage—and what an exciting surprise you’ll make as you exit a room). For an easier sell, try the serape top that dangles like a long handkerchief in burlap tissue linen, worn atop stretch nappa leggings. You’ve got coverage—and the thrill of knowing that Jennifer Aniston may have an outfit just like it.
