Despite the approaching blizzard, more than 300 young girls and boys crammed in front of the PacSun at Roosevelt Field Mall Friday to meet two of reality TV’s most famous sisters: Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
The duo were debuting their exclusive line for PacSun, “Kendall & Kylie,” a mix of on-trend pieces like dresses, denim shorts and bandeaus inspired by PacSun and their California roots. Fans were there to meet the sisters and get autographs.
“We watched our older sisters and our mom create their own line and it inspired us,” said Kylie, 15. “Because we grew up in California, we wanted to make our line about our casual California style.”
Distressed, studded high-waisted denim shorts reflected that West Coast style, while a military-inspired button-up added a hint of grunge. Cotton Tees read “Kalifornia.”
“PacSun really reflects our California style. It’s edgy, beachy and fun,” Kylie continued. “So when the opportunity came to design for them, we jumped on it.”
The collection, which ranges from $24.50 to $79.50, took more than half a year to execute. The girls made sure it reflected both of their personal styles.
“I think Kylie is a little more edgy and I’m a little more casual and relaxed,” said Kendall, 17.
“I pull my look off as more sophisticated and boho,” Kylie added. “It all works in the collection.”
It was their first visit to Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, and the sisters drew no comparisons to the shopping back home.
“It’s an amazing mall. I don’t think we have malls this huge in L.A.,” said Kylie.
The fans who packed the mall to see the Jenners were equally amazed, but for different reasons. Some even cried when they met the sisters.
“We think they’re perfect and an inspiration,” said Kaycie Gamblin, 15, of Lake Grove. Gamblin waited overnight with friend, Melissa Molinari, 16, of Holbrook to be the first few in line.
Currently, the sisters are working on their fall line after completing the summer line for “Kendall & Kylie.” In between, they continue modeling, homeschooling and shooting episodes for “Keeping up with the Kardashians.”
