Bright. Neon bright. That was the message, loud and clear, as each new model came down the runway in super-saturated Hazmat-suit shades at the Marc by Marc Jacobs runway show Monday night at the New York State Armory.
There was the solid orange “Saatchi” dress worn with red and blue platform pumps; an orange and white short suit; a green twill dress in a hyped-up tone he called “fresh grass”; even a hot pink suit for guys. (Yes, guys.)
For all the riotous tones, the look was still sleek, as in the Prussian blue oxford jumpsuit, which actually seemed…dressy.
The accessories, of course, are where any label makes the big bucks, and these babies will be flying off shelves: massive duffels and totes in Technicolor shades, cute zip-top cube bags and a slew of sneaker-like shoes. We loved the padded high-tops with hidden wedge, and the ankle-strap platform wedges made with a trompe l’oeil effect to look like high heels.
