Outdoorsy types and fashion lovers collided on Michael Kors' ruggedly elegant runway at his Wednesday morning show where rustic yet swanky outerwear pieces starred. Offerings ranged from red-and-black checked blanket coats to striped ponchos to gigantic alpaca fringed sweater coats (one of these the biggest coat we’ve ever seen, ever) to fur…and lots of it, including coyote and fox. Quite frankly, you’ll be praying for snow next winter so you can wear this stuff.

For your next trip to Kors' imaginary glamour lodge – in Colorado, or Montana -- or to wear on city streets -- buttery glove leather ski pants, or a cozy cashmere black and ivory handknit tweed sweater set – set as in top and knit briefs. A basic cable knit sweater gets paired with a wispy sparkling skirt – sort of the essence of the sturdy- meets -soft thrust of the show. A supple black leather dress is inset with lace; a wool coat is tossed nonchalantly over a charmeuse slip.

For evening, be it at the mountain lodge or the movie premiere, a stunning crimson beaded lace dress. This beauty was topped only by some liquidy paillette coated numbers, one in particular that looked like Kors had melted a pot of gold and poured it on the model’s body.

Anjelica Huston, one of many who sat in Kors’ star studded front row said she loved it. “Michael rules the world."
