Designer Michael Kors and longtime boyfriend Lance LePere got hitched on Tuesday in a  private ceremony on Dune Beach in Southampton, according to Women’s Wear Daily. Town Mayor Mark Epley officiated.

Buzz on the impending nuptials began on August 3 when Kors and LePere were spotted at City Hall in Manhattan applying for a marriage license. At the time, the designer said he was happy to have the opportunity to marry but had no plans for a major party. True to his word, the Tuesday wedding seemed a casual affair. He told WWD, “"To marry someone as wonderful and special to me as Lance barefoot on a glorious beach is more than I could have dreamed of.”

The two met when LePere, came to work for Kors in 1990. He is now the company’s creative director.

Kors, who was born in Mineola and raised in Merrick, may have to wait on a honeymoon, as it's crunch time for readying for his Spring 2012 collection, scheduled to show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center on September 14.

In any case, mazel tov!
