It's fair to say that pretty much nobody does up bluesy, boho chic better than Nanette Lepore.  In a creative industry where so many labels wind up merely trying to ape Donna, or Calvin, or Ralph, Nanette marches to the beat of her own drummer.  And for fall, that drummer is...tapping very lightly.

Oh, sure, she's got a fair helping of lush cable knitwear (like the pullover with notch lapel neckline, or the glammiest granny dress with sparkes and thick cables) but it's the gossamer-light separates she pairs with the knits that seemed particularly fresh.  And the frosty star-burst pattern in silvery tones feels like snowflakes on skirts and dresses.

She also reinvented a staid old clasic--the trench coat. In her vision, it's a trench jacket, with a zip front, cinched waist tied with a bow, languid epaulettes that trail off shoulders, and long decorative cuffs.

Some pieces may need a bit more tailoring, like an aquamarine blouse with lace back that seemed to fall in an awkward, unappealing way.  But then you look down and catch those amazing wedge booties in a dazzling zebra print.  Hard for anyone to stay critical when salivating over those.
