The New York Islanders looked more dapper than usual Wednesday night at the New Hyde Park Inn, where the ice hockey players tried their hand at dealing cards to benefit the Islanders Children's Foundation at their first ever "Pucks & Bucks" casino night.

Formal Knight Tuxedos in Deer Park dressed the team in matching black tuxedos with navy blue vests and ties, taking the pressure off their wives and girlfriends.

"That made getting ready much easier," said Cassandra DiPietro, wife of goalie Rick DiPietro, who was wearing a floor length floral Carolina Herrera gown. "I didn't have to wait an hour while he went through shirts and ties."

Danielle Hirsch, fiance of forward Kyle Okposo, agreed. "Usually he'll try to put different looks together and I'll be like no that doesn't work," she said.

Forward Matt Martin, however, took the initiative of pairing his own shoes with the rented outfit. "They're a little bit flashier," he said. "I like to keep it somewhat simple but I always wear something a little stylish. I'm definitely into nice clothes; I like to look sharp. Look good, feel good, play good. That's a motto of mine."

Martin, who said he often reads men's style magazine GQ,  made it clear that the real fashion focus was on the hairstyles.

"Me and [fellow Islanders forward Matt] Moulson are in a little bit of a battle to see who has the nicest hair," he said.

Moulson, unsurprisingly, thought he came out on top.

"I'd have to say I have the best hair," he said. "Marty only grew his out after he saw mine."
