Shoppers at the Tanger Outlets in Deer Park were asked to park at a railroad station because of overcrowded parking lots on Black Friday, police said.

A shuttle took shoppers from Long Island Rail Road’s Deer Park station to the outlets, a spokesman for the Suffolk County Police Department said. The shuttle service began around 2:30 p.m. and ended around 7 p.m.

No issues were reported, the spokesman said.

Shoppers reported long lines to get into the stores, particularly at Vineyard Vines and Kate Spade.

Last year, some drivers said they were stuck in their cars for hours on Black Friday because of a traffic jam.
