Up multiple flights of dark stairs inside the Lexington Armory in Manhattan, the world's most beautiful women were gathered in one room Wednesday morning, dressed in hot pink silk robes, anxiously preparing for the one show they wait for all year.
They're Victoria's Secret Angels, and today they'll walk the catwalk wearing diamond-studded bras, golden wings and other elaborate costumes for two tapings of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, airing on CBS Nov. 29.
"I've been looking forward to this all year," said Adriana Lima, her hair half in curls. "It's the highlight of my life. This year is going to be the best ever."
Nicki Minaj, Kanye West and Maroon 5 will all be performing.
"To be a Victoria's Secret Angel you have to embrace yourself, enjoy, just have fun and be you," she said, losing her voice from a cold. "I sound miserable, but I feel wonderful."
Across the room, Victoria's Secret veteran Alessandra Ambrosio admitted to still getting pre-show jitters.
"Today I'm just trying to stay calm and relaxing before the show starts," she said. "As used to it as I am, it's still tough for me," she said of strutting down the runway wearing heavy angel wings and sky-high heels.
Brunette beauty Lily Aldridge agreed.
"It's a lot of prep, a lot of pressure, a lot of working out," she said of the days leading up to the show, "but it's so much fun. The other angels are all my girlfriends. We're all really close."
What will she do tomorrow when it's all over?
Eat pizza and bagels with cream cheese, she said with a laugh.
