What will Project Prom girl, Kat Grandazza, wear to her prom? Newsday readers have spoken.

Out of the thousands of you who voted, 44 percent chose the “back flip” a saucy one shoulder coral number with a mesh back emblazoned with hundreds of sparkling crystals. The frock, by La Femme, came from Estelle’s Dressy Dresses in Farmingdale, and fit our girl, a senior at South Side High in Rockville Centre, to a tee.

Second place went to “the split,” an aqua confection with an embellished bodice by Morrell Maxie from Sugarplum in Garden City.  It took 32 percent of the votes.

Honorable mention to the “round off” a sapphire blue Elegante gown from Outrageous Boutique in Plainview that boasted cutouts at the waist, chunky blue gemstones and silver embroidery.

Kat is thrilled. "Obviously I loved them all, but I was leaning towards the ‘back flip’ because I thought that dress fit me and my personality the best. I'm glad the voters had the same thoughts I did,” she said.

Now it’s our turn. Newsday is buying Kat’s dress. Next stop -- well the prom of course -- being held on June 26 at the Venetian Yacht club in Babylon.  Stay tuned.
